Water Valley times past, the horse was foundational to family and community for transportation, ranch work and livelihoods, leisure activities, competitive pursuits, and adventure. What better way to raise money for the community than to auction off the stud fees of those cherished ranching or prize-winning show horses? That’s how it started. The Water Valley Stud Auction at the Water Valley Saloon. And what memorable and remarkable stories are shared of those days!

The annual Water Valley Celtic Festival is a one day lively and totally unique experience that features talent of all levels involving music, dance and stories performed by individuals and groups covering the range from amateur to professional level. This festival is patterned after the festival held at Feakle, Co. Clare, Ireland, which was the inspiration for the festival's founder Dave Settles.

Get ready for some friendly competition with exciting games and a thrilling pickle ball tournament. In between matches, you can browse the selection of local vendors or check out the beer gardens.
Small towns have a unique charm, and Water Valley is no exception. In this tight-knit community, everyone knows their neighbours, making for a friendlier and more invested atmosphere.
Local businesses are run by families who believe in the power of community, resulting in a strong sense of pride and ownership over the town's offerings.
Whether you're looking for a round of golf, some hardware supplies, or locally-made mead, Water Valley has it all.
Emily Lamb grew up as a feral farm child in the Fallen Timber and Sundre areas before moving away to discover “bigger and better” things. Little did she know, those things would lead her to Water Valley, about 20kms from her original stomping grounds.
After a few years of soul searching and working in the outdoor industry throughout Canada and the US, Emily eventually settled on a small piece of land west of Winchell Lake.
